Description
The T-80U was one of the last MBTs in service before the USSR fell. It’s equipped with Kontakt-5 ERA and its infamous GDT-1000TF turbine engine, giving it a 1000 horsepower and great mobility overall.
In public servers, you may find this tank rather challenging to play as it’s not perfectly suited against the ATGMs in the tier, but it is still capable of brawling effectively. It’s an agile tank and it should be used as such, especially because unlike its diesel engine peers, it can reverse up to 16km/h, which is enough combined with the acceleration it gets in reverse.
In custom Cold War servers, this tank is a menace. No longer do you have to fear ATGMs as much as in public servers, and you get to outperform even more of your oponents by firepower and mobility-wise.
The weaknesses like gun depression, insufficent reverse speed for long retreating, and the least safe ammo carousel are still there, but it is still my most beloved tank in this game so far.
