Hidden in a tin can with tracks all day, the fear of enemy anti tank weapons looming over them, many tankers started looking for ways of improving their tank's armour. Some used spare tracks, some used sandbags, and some even used logs and wood planks. With concrete being common in bunker building and other reinforcements, tankers wanted this heavy but somewhat effective modification on their tanks.
