Community note
The VFW (VersuchsFlakWagen) or Pz. Sfl. IVc was a German anti tank/aircraft tank built on an heavily modified Pz.IV chassi. After some time in use the Wermacht realised that the 8.8cm Flak 41 flak 41 anti aircraft cannon was a very good anti tank gun. This meant that they would start using it for both anti air and tank roles. So there were many attempts of placing the gun on an tank chassi, this is one of them by Waffenamt. It featured folding side panels that could be folded down for 360 degree turns with the turret and folded up when the protection was needed. Only 3 were made and only 1 was deployed in Italy.
