Description

Hull and turret are fully separated so you are surprisingly survivable, plus good 105 reload and the hull gun too

(fictional lore)

Before preliminary testing of the Swedish EMIL tank had started, Sweden wanted to test its new turret and gun, but a suitable chassis for testing wasn’t available, so instead of constructing one, they opted to do something a bit unorthodox: a single soviet SU-152 was purchased from Finland, with an opening in the roof made to install the turret drive components. Since the Emil’s turret lacked any kind of turret basket, and all the crew was fully within the turret, this modification of the tank destroyer proved actually somewhat functional, though it significantly overloaded the KV chassis of the SU-152. Regardless, it provided a viable test bed for the turret, and fire-on-the-move trials were conducted with the modified hull, where it performed favorably, though top speed was noticeably reduced.
